Richard C. Kersten

Richard C. Kersten, 64, of Janesville passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 following a brief battle with cancer. Richard was born on December 22, 1946 in Janesville, the son of Chester and Helen (Hoesly) Kersten. He graduated from Janesville High School where he was very active in sports. He attended U-W La Crosse and served in the U. S. Air Force during the Viet Nam era. Richard married Fallon Tresa Ritsema on May 4, 1988. He was employed by Parker Pen Company for 33 years and later as a custodian at Franklin Middle School for 10 years prior to retiring. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and enjoyed sports, especially following the Packers and Brewers.Surviving are his wife, Fallon Tresa Kersten, 4 daughters, Adrianne Duncan, Angela (Willy) Zimney, Arryn (Shawn) Blaser, Amy Camp, 9 grandchildren and his mother, Helen Kersten. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Kersten and a son-in-law, Michael Duncan.  Visitation times will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept, 12th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville and from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 13th at St. John Lutheran Church, 302 N. Parker Drive, Janesville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church with Pastor Bond Haldeman officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.   “WE ALL LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU VERY MUCH”     The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
